How Vaza.ng collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

This policy explains what personal data Vaza collects, why, and what rights you have over it, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
1. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text)
- Optional profile details: phone number
- Payout details (sellers only): bank account number and bank name, used solely to pay you for sales
- Listing content: titles, descriptions, prices, and photos you upload
- Transaction data: orders, payment status, and messages related to disputes
- Technical data: IP address and basic device information, for security and fraud prevention
2. How we use it
- To operate your account and let you buy, sell, and manage orders
- To process payments and payouts through our payment provider, Flutterwave
- To send you order-related notifications (payment confirmed, item shipped, etc.)
- To investigate and resolve disputes
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the Platform
3. Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary data with our payment provider, Flutterwave, to process payments and payouts. We don't sell your personal data to third parties. We may disclose data if required to by law, or to protect the rights and safety of Vaza or our users.
4. How long we keep it
We keep account and transaction data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations.
5. Your rights
Under the NDPA, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data, subject to any legal retention requirements (e.g. transaction records)
- Withdraw consent for optional data uses

6. Security
Passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text. Payment card details are never stored by Vaza - they're handled directly by Flutterwave. That said, no system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.
